Well, I certainly enjoyed our last event on August 14 - Lingerie and Less.. it was a different feeling for Greg and I to not have to be at the door and  "working" all night... We have always maintained that it's not really work because we have so much fun meeting new people and making sure friends find each other once they arrive at the club, but it was nice to be able to hang out together and dance!

The biggest difference for me was that I decided to accept drink offers from everybody who asked, where as I normally limit myself to one drink per event, as we are usually up until 3 or 4am.... so I had a little teeny headache on Sunday... thanks D and L - you know who you are  - with the unlimited Gin and Tonics... LOL....
 
Seriously though, we will miss the fun of meeting all the new people right at the door, and greeting old friends, but we look forward to still coming out as often as possible. One of the reasons we decided to step away is because I am traveling more for work, and Samantha's Place without a Samantha - or now a Skye - would be weird.... Also we are going to be grandparents in January and I just don't think a swing club should be run by a Gramma! I think having a beautiful young couple like Skye and Todd at the door continuing Samantha's Place for everyone will be great!
 
So, we hope you will continue to support them in the way you have supported us over the years, and come on out and meet them if you haven't already!

Update Aug. 16th 2010

Wow, Samantha's Place was filled with very sexy ladies in lingerie of all colours on Saturday for our "Lingerie or Less" event!   What a hawt night!  We met a lot of new couples who were out to the club for their first time and enjoyed seeing so many familiar faces, as well.  A few lucky ladies who arrived wearing lingerie from the Stag Shop also got to take home another piece of lingerie to add to their collection, thanks to Devon, at the Stag Shop and she also brought sexy Stag Shop door prizes, as well!

Naughty Schoolgirl Night

 September 11th, 2010. 

This is a fun event that everyone can participate in.  Ladies put on a plaid skirt (the shorter the better!), tight little top and maybe some knee socks to complete the outfit.  For the men... do we have any strict headmasters out there?!?  Dressing in theme is always optional at Samantha's Place so this is also a great chance for the ladies to wear a favourite summery dress one last time before the Fall is upon us.    

It sounds like Port Dover was the place to be on Friday the 13th.  We've been hearing rave reviews from all who went and we know that many of the motorcycle fans out there are also gearing up for another fun event:

Update Aug. 10th, 2010

Well, another weekend has come and gone... sigh.  The summer seems to be flying by and we hope you've been able to squeeze in some beach time, we sure have!  There's nothing like hot sand, big waves and spending time with friends in tiny bikinis!  After all the sunny weather so far this summer I'm sure many of the lovely ladies have beautiful tans so come on out and show them off at Samantha's Place this Saturday, August 14th for  Lingerie or Less  night!

This will be a fun-packed weekend!  To start it off join Samantha and Greg (and tens of thousands of motorcycles) in  Port Dover  on Friday the 13th.

Update August 5th 2010

Greetings from Vacation Land.. I (Samantha) am on vacation this week and already have a much tidier basement, rode 20km on my bicycle just to buy milk (cause I had lots of time on my hands), and Greg and I are heading to the Bend on the (motor) bike today, then a BBQ and visit with his folks... hopefully we can squeeze in a day at the nude beach before I head back to all that awaits at the office...
 
We are also looking forward to the next week, as we have TWO exciting things for you.. Friday the 13th to Port Dover for all you motorcycle fans.. go here for details  http://www.pd13.com  and watch next weeks update for a meeting time and place if you want to join our ride there, or a meet and greet in Dover.
 
The only Friday the 13th in 2010 - as many as 100,000 bikes expected on this day!
Meet us at the Hwy. 401 HUSKY (just East of London) at 9:00am to ride there with us!

Then, with just one sleep to recover, Saturday August 14th is our Lingerie or Less night at Samantha's Place.. I understand Skye did some shopping last time she was in Toronto in preparation, so I can't wait to see what she has in store for all of us! Hhhmmmm.. what shall I wear??

Update July 30th 2010

Hope you all enjoyed the week and last weekend's Home County Folk Festival.

Todd & I (Skye) weren't able to take in some of last weekend's festivities happening around the city.  We were in the GTA so.......missed out this year but, on the upside, we were able to go to Club Wicked and while in Toronto we had a blast! I also had the opportunity to do some lingerie shopping while we were away and I picked up an outfit for our next event
"Lingerie or Less", on Saturday August 14th.
Actually, I picked up enough items for a year of Lingerie or Less events  :) 
 
Todd and I are enjoying our new role as hosts and are excited about officially taking over the club with a seamless transition in September.  While we've been learning the ropes we've also had time to enjoy meeting new couples and single ladies and getting to spend more time with those we already know.  There were quite a few new couples out last month for Men's White Dress Shirt night and many of them told us that they were nervous.  Believe us - we remember that feeling!  Everything changed for us as soon as we got to know a few people and we've found the club to be a very friendly, no-pressure environment.

Update July 22nd 2010

Well, a big thank you to all who came out to our White Shirt Night on Saturday.. Lots of sexy looks with the shirts - boots, cute bra and panty sets, sexy shoes.. great job Ladies and thanks for getting into the theme!
 
Skye and Todd met lots of great new people as they begin to learn the ropes to take over in September. Thank you all for making them feel so welcome.

Happy Canada Day
 
We hope you will get some time to spend with friends and family this holiday week/weekend. What a weird holiday this year....I have Thursday off (nude beach trip maybe?) but have to work Friday then have Saturday/Sunday off.

Update June 20th 2010

What a beautiful weekend! Greg and I took off on Friday on the motorcycle with a friend to Oakville - some afternoon play at the hotel, then dinner with more friends... Saturday morning we all joined about 100 more bikes for the HOT Ride along the side roads around Oakville and Burlington and God only knows where (the lead bike took a wrong turn and we ended up way off base)....but it was a good time and we all ended up where we were supposed to be for lunch and prizes and the sun finally came out for the ride home!
 
Then we had a quick shower and headed to Samantha's Place for the Toga Party Under the Stars! It was great - M and V and their crew at our venue did a fabulous job of getting the Rooftop Patio ready for us and it was a perfect night for it!  I think Chris the DJ was a little lonely at first, but he got the people on the dance floor and we had people rocking it right till 2am!
One member, "C" said it was "the best place ever!"
 
Thank you to all of you who came out to party with us - and an extra thank you for those who were brave enough to bring out the bed sheets, curtains and tablecloths to create your togas! I can understand how togas have not stood the test of time as a "Fashion Statement".. not very practical in this country....but you all looked fabulous!
 
Thank you also for the warm welcome for Skye and Todd - they were very busy meeting lots of new people and getting used to their host and hostess duties - I know you will all continue to support and encourage them!

The owners of the venue where we hold our events have been working very hard to build a beautiful wooden deck on the roof of the building - and we are excited to be able to use it for our June Toga Night. It does have it's own bathrooms, and a great bar and Chris the DJ will be able to set up there and play tunes under the beautiful night sky. (There is a "back up room" if it rains, but it won't..)

For those of you who have motorcycles and like to do Charity Rides, we will be heading out of Oakville early on June 19 to join the HOT RIDE with some friends. We would love to have you join us! We did this ride last year and it was great! Update June 9th 2010

Hi Everybody - Well, Happy Anniversary to Me!

Samantha's Place 10th Anniversary was on Saturday night and I could not have asked for a better night! Lots of wonderful people - some we had not seen in a long time, some new faces and some of the "regular crowd", so it made a nice mix for all to meet!
 
Chris the DJ figures you were all too busy meeting people to ask for requests since he hardly got any all night! He does have a fabulous software system and he pretty much has everything, so don't be shy about asking for your favourite next time!
 
We had some great prizes from Devon at the Stag Shop, and a gi-normous TV to give away - the lucky couple that won it had ridden in from Mississauga on their motorcycle, so it looks like we have a new TV - no I'm kidding - it looks like we have an excuse for a road trip to go visit them! That worked out well for hubby and I anyway....they are a very cute couple and we met them at a party a few months back and were so happy they came to visit.
 
And there was cake - what a great way to top off a fabulous evening! Thank you to all for your tremendous support over the years!
 
Sunday we headed to the nude beach on our motorcycle and hung out with some friends and ran into more friends.. gotta love hot summer Sundays!

**** Now, for the most important part of our update... BIG NEWS... REALLY BIG NEWS.. and we want to make sure you all read this very carefully so no nasty rumours start...are you ready???.....
 
After 10 fabulous years running Samantha's Place, hubby and I have passed the club on to another couple who will keep it running and still provide you with monthly events and weekly updates and all the great things you have come to expect from South Western Ontario's longest running Swing Club. We have talked with the great couple who rent us our venue, and Chris the DJ, and everybody we work with on a monthly basis and they are all very happy with the new owners and agree with us that they will do a great job.
 
So, I would like to introduce you all to Skye and Todd. They are a lovely young couple from the London area, they have been coming to our club for a couple of years now and we are thrilled they have accepted our offer. We believe they will give you all excellent customer service and Skye has been working with my sweetie to learn all the ins and outs of the website and registration procedures, updates and so on. You will see them over the next few months learning the ropes at the door, and helping us with set up and learning who everybody is. Things will stay the same, your memberships are still valid, the prices are not changing, there will just be a different friendly face at the door!
 
We hope you will welcome them with open arms and continue to support them in the same way you have supported us over the last 10 years.
 
Please understand we are NOT closing our doors, Skye and Todd will take over gradually over the summer and then hubby and I can just hang out and relax at the events with you, and maybe dance together!
 
The decision is purely about timing - I have been very busy this past year with my job and I am lucky enough to have the opportunity to travel with it, but I don't always get to pick the dates for events and conferences, so we were finding many conflicts. Running Samantha's Place has always been a fun hobby for us, but our families and jobs are first priority. As our kids get older they are getting married and will be having babies (soon I hope!) and we want to be available for them.
 
So, it is with mixed feelings that we share this exciting news, we are happy to be moving onto this next chapter in our lives, but we will miss the weekly contact with you all.

I can't believe it's almost here!! This Saturday Night!!! 

Our 10th Anniversary Bash at Samantha's Place!
it's gonna be a party! ...
 
It's hard to imagine it has been 10 years since we first opened our doors to the Swinging Community in Southwestern Ontario....that's 120 events! 120 opportunities to make new friends and at least 120 chances to meet new people.
Also 120 times hubby and I have gone for a 3 am breakfast to talk about how the night went and how we can make it better next time! That is a lot of bacon and eggs!
 
So - don't forget all the fun things going  - Saturday May 29th is Samantha's Place 10th Anniversary -  you can buy an annual membership for only $50 (instead of $60)... if you already have a membership you can extend or renew it now for the sale price! Membership means you save $15 every time you come to an event, and other "special privileges" too....ask at the door for details!

So, hubby and I are off to Halifax this weekend, for me to do a little work, and us to do a little visiting with family and an old friend who lived with us during her college days....

Wow - May is here already? I saw a Christmas tree out on a front lawn on garbage day this week....wonder where that has been hiding?
 
So- May means Spring and Spring means Motorcycle rides and the Nude Beach are coming soon!!
 
If it would stop raining we might get out on the bike one of these days....keep yours eyes on the website for Ride Dates - we like to do some organized fundraising rides and also just spur of the moment rides to Port Burwell, or Dover or Port Stanley, so stay tuned and join us if you can!

Update April 20th 2010

Oh boy -no wonder we love Mardi Gras.. Samantha's Place was hopping last night with lots of Mardi Gras partiers - there were beads, boobs and more beads everywhere...just the way we like it!
 
Sandi and Ted from Tryst Mag came with their GO WILD party stuff -lots of great prizes and 50/50 draw.. great big thank you to them....and congrats to all who won some great prizes....and thank you to all the ladies who worked the room collecting beads to compete for the Grand Prize. A great basket of goodies from Stag Shop and a Naughty In N'Awlins Swingers Convention trip went to the lovely Sherri ...thank you to all who participated and had fun!
 
A special thanks to those of you who went all out with costumes and masks and so on - it makes it even more fun when people participate and get involved...great way to meet people! And that is why we are there, right!?!
 
We sure had a long night, as we started out at 5:30 having dinner with Sandi and Ted and our friend Kimberley, then off to decorate and get set up at the club, people were arriving by 8 o'clock, and we before I knew it was 1:40am and last call was up! We cleaned up, paid out all the staff (gotta love those hard working bartending ladies) and then off for breakfast at the casino to wind down from all the excitement! I think it was almost 5am before we fell into bed for a few hours sleep...I can't tell you what happened after that but let's just say hubby is having a little nap on the couch while I write this...
 
Well, we are hoping beach and motorcycle season is coming soon....keep your eye on the updates and website for postings about Charity Rides and trips to Port Dover and Port Burwell...we hope some of you will join us this summer!

It's almost Mardi Gras time again!  

This year is going to be Extra Special because we have Sandi and Ted coming from Tryst Mag... www.trystmag.com with their fabulous GO WILD PARTY!  We have been to several GO WILD Parties with them in Burlington and this year the planets aligned properly and we were able to get them to come to our place for our Mardi Gras!!

This Saturday, April 17th is the date...and we are so excited!!
 
We have known Sandi and Ted for a long time but we don't get to see them too often.... they spend their summer weekends on their boat and we spend ours on the motorcycle....but every now and then we manage to connect and it's just like old times!
 
Anyway, hubby and I are very happy they are coming, and they always bring lots of cool prizes with them! (We hear there is even a 3 night package at HEDO II and a $500 gift certificate for any trip with Dream Pleasure Tours!!!)

Update April 7th 2010

Well, wasn't that a beautiful weekend!! We started Good Friday with our traditional 5k Run for the London Abused Women's Centre - I usually run the 5k...and what a gorgeous day it was!

Then Hubby and I jumped in the car and headed to Ottawa to visit family- weather there was also gorgeous and I got to snuggle the weekend away with a 3 month old baby, whenever I could get him away from various aunts and Grammas. Finished off Sunday with a fabulous Easter dinner. Had dinner a place called Fat Belly Mama's - great Cajun food -which made me think of upcoming Mardi Gras party....more on that in a minute
We hope you all had a great long weekend too!
 
Back home now and looking forward to some motorcycle time this week! Also really really excited about our  Mardi Gras Bash GO WILD With Sandi (and Ted)  from Tryst Magazine www.trystmag.com coming soon! Well, that was a fast weekend...Friday night dinner with a friend....off to the gym Saturday morning, then to Toronto with Greg for a house party with our dear long time friends Sandi and Ted from Tryst Magazine....met some new people......out for a yummy breakfast with Sandi and Ted, trip to IKEA, and a new store called Goodness Me - organic groceries and all kinds of goodies... and a stop for late lunch at a great little TexMex place in Burlington....we both crashed for a nap when we got home...and here we are gearing up for another week - thank goodness it's a short one!

Wow, St Paddy's is over, first day of Spring was Saturday, and Easter is just around the corner!
 
Our St Paddy's Party was a great time - great to see so many in the spirit with their green clothing and assorted party items....shot glasses, sunglasses, pins, headbands, etc... thank you everybody... We got off to a slow start due to some technical difficulties with the sounds system, but Chris the DJ ran home for some back up and all was good by 10pm and we were singing the Unicorn Song (OK maybe that was just me, but I like it!).
 
Just a reminder, in February somebody left behind a gray jacket with car keys in the pocket, and we still have them... whoever they belong to must be getting tired of walking, and I wonder why they haven't contacted us.... seriously, I realize you must have another set, but it's a nice jacket and I'm sure you would like the keys back too...just email us if you think they are yours and we will arrange to get them to you..
 
So, as I said, April is almost upon and with that comes....our Mardi Gras Party!

Update February 28th 2010

As I type this I am watching the Canadian Hockey Team skate across the ice with the Canadian Flag, having just won the Gold Medal for Hockey. Man is that gonna be a party tonight in Vancouver!
 
We had ourselves quite a party last night too if I say so myself. Samantha's Valentine Bash was another busy night with a great mixture of familiar faces and new friends to make! I also loved the unofficial Corset theme that seemed to evolve! Lots of gorgeous ladies in various colours and styles of corsets, and you all looked fabulous!  Devon from the Stag Shop came out with some great door prizes (wearing a gorgeous corset herself) and the dance floor was hopping all night long!  Thank you once again everybody who came out and helped make it such a fun night!
 
It seems since several people asked us this same question last night, we want to clear it up - Yes "hubby" and I are in the lifestyle and Yes we do have chance to play with friends (In fact we were at a house party on Friday for a friends birthday and managed to get naked a couple of times)...but on the night of an event, we are working hard to make sure you are all having a good time, checking on the bathrooms, calling cabs, checking on the smoking area, and making sure the last person is safely out the door after the lights come up....etc...then we have to take down the decorations for whatever theme it was, clean up and settle all the bills with Chris and the owner of the bar, so it's often 3am before we get out of there. So - while we are flattered when guests ask us to join them for play, it's just not a good time for us to make that kind of connection - but there are 29 or 30 other days to the month when we love to get together with people for dinner, drinks, coffee and get to know you better!
 
On that note, we are only 3 weeks away till our next event - and it will be  St Paddy's' Day!  This one is always a big party, everybody is Irish for the night! Be sure to register early and bring your shamrocks! Wear something green...we will provide an area with some green body paint, so just in case you can't find anything you like...you can paint it on!

Update January 25th 2010

Well, you guys did it again - you  made us so proud to be the hosts of Samantha's Place and showed how much you all care about our community! Our Kick Off Event to 2010 - Amateur Dancer Night raised $605 for the London Abused Women's Centre! Remember I said at 11:30 PM we were at $480 and my goal was $600 - well we did it! I am so thrilled and I know the Centre will put the money to good use! Visit their site at  www.lawc.on.ca  to see what great work they do. Our heartfelt thanks to all of you who supported our cause last night, and for many years in the past.
 
I know there were lots of you up there dancing, I saw you! Saturday is rapidly approaching and that means the Kick Off Event for Samantha's Place for 2010!!!

We are starting the new year with our very popular Amateur Exotic or Lap Dancer Night...always a fun time, and the money raised goes to an excellent cause - the London Abused Women's Centre (www.lawc.on.ca for more info). Let us know if you are interested in being one of our fundraising dancers, no pressure...no worries... it's just good fun. You can decide now or anytime during the night to dance for anyone who asks/offers. We do this event every year and it is always busy and very popular. Last year we raised over $600 and have donated well over $4000 to the Women's Centre in all the years we've been doing this great event! This event is Very Sexy and the more tickets you buy, the more people you will know quite intimately by the end of the evening.   
 
Otherwise, stock up on $5 bills and come on out and have a great time.. or better yet, stock up on $20 bills and buy lots of dances! There will be lots of variety to choose from with the ladies, so why stop at one? We also have a male dancer this year - I'm keeping $5 handy for that myself!

Happy New Year To All! Welcome to 2010 and Samantha's 10th year helping open minded fun people like yourself find new friends and playmates!
We hope you had a wonderful Christmas and holiday season and are ready for a great new year.
 
We had lots of time with family over the holidays, and spent New Years at a lovely house party with some wonderful people....nothing like a hot tub with the snow swirling around..
 
However, back to reality this week and the office and all the million things that make up our lives...

Here is how it works: I will be selling tickets for $5 each. When somebody gives you a ticket, you dance for them - one ticket = one song! You can be topless, or naked by the end of the song....whatever you are comfortable with....then you get dressed and start again! The lady with the most tickets at midnight will win a great prize pack from Forbidden Fantasies Lingerie!
